To much sticktion and a bit heavy
At first glance it looks to be a very nice and sturdy fork. A bit heavy at over 2Kg but I'm not to bothered about that. However the sticktion is very bad compared to a Pike or even an old Sektor. I even ordered aftermarket SKF seals but it's still bad. Also a note that the bottomless tokens are the narrow 32mm kind.

Stiction and basic dampers, Rockshox can do better in 2020
Pros: stiff 35mm chassis, looks like a premium fork, not overly heavy.
Cons: Terrible stiction, the motion control and rebound dampers are low-end Rockshox, not internally upgradeable with higher-end RS dampers or air springs, limited bottomless tokens (2 max), Debonair air spring not the same unit as other RS Debonair fork air springs.

If there is one word that can be used to describe this fork it is "stiction". Stiction on this fork is worse than even a 13 year old RockShox Recon 351 I still own (and certainly much, much worse than my 2019 Pike and 2012 Revelation). This fork feels distinctly "notchy". Low friction Push seals, a complete service, Maxima Plush suspension fluids and Slickoleum grease improved things from new, but stiction is still worse than my 2007 Rockshox Recon 351 Solo Air.

As far as damping, subjectively the Motion Control DNA and Dual Flow Rebound dampers in my 12 year old 2012 Rockshox Revelation handles repetitive hits and high speed hits better than the dampers in this 2020 Gold 35 RL.

Altogether 2 reviews for RockShox 35 Gold RL DebonAir disc black tapered 15/110mm Boost 27.5'/650B 100mm 44mm with an average rating of 2 points.
