Shimano XT (Deore XT)
In 1982, its year of introduction, the
Shimano XT was the first dedicated mountain bike group – since then it has assured
its top league position among
mountain bike parts. Above it there's only the
Shimano XTR group which offers even more performance.
Current XT derailleur shifting systems offer 10-speeds on the rear for mountain bike and
trekking bike use. The trekking version has a crankset with
larger
chainrings and an optional chainguard.
Revolutionary is the new Dyna-Sys system found on
Shimano XT components. This concept offers
gear ratios with minimum steps. An optional 11-36 T. cassette widens this range even more.
