THE SAME, BUT DIFFERENT
Inside, the Ratchet LN uses the same mechanism as the well-known Ratchet system. The difference in the systems is in the placement of the seal. To ensure the convertibility of ratchet hubs, the seal had to be attached to the freehub housing of the Ratchet LN hubs. On hubs with the classic Ratchet system or Ratchet EXP, the seal is on the hub body.

WHY RATCHET?
Ratchet System hubs are unique in that all the teeth of the two discs engage simultaneously each time. In the case of ratchet hubs, the engagement area is quite small. In the case of the Ratchet System, however, the entire face surfaces engage with each other, resulting in a much smaller point load. The result is the legendary reliability of Ratchet System hubs.
