At the core of the 1x Ekar GT system lies the crankset, offering a variety of chainring options to cater to diverse riding needs.

Single chainrings present a straightforward solution: no front derailleur, reduced weight, fewer components prone to dirt accumulation and potential blockages, and enhanced chain security without redundant overlapping chainrings – an ideal setup for gravel riding.

Constructed with two aluminum cranks and semi axles made from AISI 630 steel, the crankset adheres to the smart material combinations found throughout the Ekar GT groupset, prioritizing lightweight construction without compromising on efficiency or durability.

Incorporating the innovative ProTech technology, the two semi axles within the bottom bracket are united by a single robust screw. The oversized stainless steel bearing race, located on the crank, is mounted onto the semi axle, ensuring maximum smoothness and resilience. This design facilitates easy inspection and maintenance without necessitating the removal of the cups.

With five chainring options available (36T, 38T, 40T, 42T, 44T), each meticulously engineered for efficient power transmission and reliable chain performance, the crankset provides versatility across various terrain types.

The lightweight yet durable 7075 aluminum chainrings are easily interchangeable, requiring no disassembly of the crankset. Symmetrically arranged, the four arms of the crank ensure optimal load distribution, featuring a 104mm bolt circle diameter. Changing chainrings offers a simple and efficient means of adjusting gear ratios to tackle different terrain with ease.

Offering three crank length options (170mm, 172.5mm, 175mm), the Ekar GT crankset accommodates cyclists and bikes of all sizes. Shorter cranks are particularly favored for gravel bikes with low bottom brackets, minimizing the risk of encountering obstacles on unpredictable terrain.

With a Q factor of 151mm, the crankset promotes a comfortable and efficient pedaling style, irrespective of rider size.
