  • CUTTHROAT

    Ultra-Endurance Mixed Surface / Tour Divide-Inspired / Bikepacking

The redesigned Cutthroat drop-bar mountain bike and gravel frameset offers more stability and compliance in a package that’s equally at home bikepacking on remote doubletrack, taking the occasional singletrack shortcut, or conquering a gravel race. Build it into the all-day, mixed-surface bike you’ve always wanted.

    Redesigned Carbon Fork
With 32% more compliance over the previous-generation Cutthroat fork and new abrasion-resistant plates in high-wear areas, the new Cutthroat Carbon fork is designed for the rigors of rides that cover multiple road surfaces in unpredictable conditions.

    Class 5 VRS
The Class 5 Vibration Reduction System revolves around seatstays with a tall, thin, vertically-oriented profile that promotes vertical compliance by allowing the seatstays to "flex" outwards on impacts. Horizontally-oriented chainstays work to resist torque and maintain a laterally stiff rear end. The lack of seatstay and chainstay bridges allows the full length of the stays to contribute to flexibility. A rear thru-axle delivers precise tracking while allowing the seatstays to provide incredible compliance.

    Interior Junction Control Molding Technology
We use interior molds at all of the main front triangle junctions during layup and curing. This allows for precise control of wall thickness and inner-wall smoothness in these areas. This process increases compaction and reduces voids and wrinkles in critical high-stress zones. The end result is a top-quality carbon frame that delivers consistent high performance.

    Refined Cutthroat Geometry
We’ve updated our drop bar mountain bike geometry with a 69° head tube angle for a longer wheelbase that provides supreme stability over long days on any surface. 445 mm chainstays with Class 5 VRS will get you through everything from remote two-track gravel roads to technical singletrack trails, with the efficiency and comfort that endurance riders need to keep at it day after day. Cutthroat is designed for optimized fit with the Salsa Cowchipper or Woodchipper Bars.

    Tour Divide-Inspired Features
Designed for maximum frame bag volume on every size. Stay hydrated with room for three bottles on 54–60cm frames (two bottles on 52cm frames). The top tube bag mount makes mid-ride refueling easy, and the two Three-Pack mounts on the fork offer extra capacity for gear or water. The Cutthroat carbon fork has internal wire routing for dynamo hub lighting systems. Abrasion-resistant plates reduce frame and fork wear cause by mud and debris.

    Massive Tire and Mud Clearance
Fits 29 x 2.4" tires, plus the mud you are likely to encounter in multi-day endurance races (and abrasion-resistant plates on the fork minimize the damage that mud can cause).

    Road Boost Drivetrain
A road drivetrain paired with a mountain boost crank creates the best drivetrain and tire clearance for the unique needs of a drop-bar bike with 29” wheels.
1x mechanical-compatible using mountain boost cranks (max 40t chainring) and a road drivetrain in all other areas.
2x mechanical-compatible using Race Face mountain boost cranks and Easton direct-mount chainrings (max 50/34t, complete bikes ship with 46/30t) and a road drivetrain in all other areas.
    Shimano Di2 1x- and 2x-compatible.
    SRAM AXS 1x-compatible.

    Cutthroat Direct-Mount Frame Pack
This pack mounts to the frame via thumb screws for tool-free attachment and removal. This also creates a streamlined look and prevents wear from strap rub. Made from waterproof fabrics and water-resistant construction, the Cutthroat Direct-Mount Frame Pack comes in five sizes to match Cutthroat frame sizing perfectly.

Multiple Bottle and Cargo Carrying Options
Capable of carrying four (52cm frames) or five (54–60cm frames) bottles with Three-Pack Mounts on the fork. Mounts for EXP Series Top Tube Bag and two accessory mounts on the underside of the downtube provide space for the Salsa Anything Bracket Mini or fuel, water bottle, or Salsa KEG. Cutthroat Direct Mount Frame Pack provides ample capacity across all frame sizes, and front and rear rack mounts offer endless options for carrying cargo.
