- Surly Preamble All-Road Flat Bar full bike
The challenge was clear: Build a solid steel bike and equip it only with the attributes that truly matter. Make it fast and comfortable on pavement while being confident and compliant on rougher surfaces. The result is the Preamble, a pavement and gravel all-rounder that shows you don’t need to cut corners or pinch pennies to create an affordable steel bike – you just need to keep it simple.
The Preamble can accommodate racks, fenders, and two water bottles. Smooth and efficient on asphalt, its double-butted main triangle delivers a great ride feel and stands up to life’s inevitable bumps. It’s customizable with flat bars, drop bars, baskets, or bags. On the path to steel euphoria, the Preamble is the first step.
