Salsa Warbird Carbon Frameset 650B/700C black Warbird is Salsa's gravel race bike, built upon years of experience racing some of the premier gravel events in the country. It’s designed to hold its own and excel on everything from the often-sketchy B-roads that make up a large part of the Midwest gravel scene to the high-altitude forest service roads of the coasts. The Salsa Warbird Carbon Frameset in black is the foundation for a versatile and high-performance gravel race bike with roots in demanding gravel races. This frame is designed to withstand and perform on a wide variety of terrain, from unpaved roads to challenging gravel tracks.
A standout feature is its compatibility with different wheel sizes. The frame offers a maximum tire clearance of 716mm for 700c wheels and 696mm for 650b wheels. Salsa recommends a tire size of 700 x 32mm but offers flexibility for wider tires up to 700c x 45mm or voluminous 650b x 51mm to optimally adapt to various surfaces.
The Warbird's geometry is designed for stability and comfort. It can be ridden with both a 427mm suspension fork (with 40mm travel) and a 405mm rigid fork, with a fork offset of 50mm. The frame is designed for an IS41/IS52 headset, a 27.2mm seatpost, and a 32.0mm seat clamp. A BB86 PressFit bottom bracket ensures efficient power transfer.
For the shifting components, the frame offers options for 1x cranks with a maximum of 44 teeth or 2x cranks with a maximum size of 52/36 teeth and a minimum of 46/30 teeth. Brake mounting is via Flat Mount for 140 or 160mm rotors at the rear and 160mm at the front. The dropout spacing is 142mm at the rear (with M12 x 167L thru-axle) and 100mm at the front (with M12 x 120L thru-axle).
Functionality is enhanced by numerous mounting points. Fender eyelets are present, as are rack eyelets compatible with the Salsa Down Under Rack. Depending on the frame size, there are two or three bottle cage mounts in the main frame, as well as a downtube accessory mount and top tube mounts for a top tube bag. There are also Three-Pack mounts on the fork legs for additional equipment. Weighing approximately 1870g in size 56cm, this carbon frame offers a lightweight foundation for your next gravel adventure.
