  • Tom Ritchey logs around 10,000 miles each year, relishing those long, unrestricted rides that transition from gravel to tarmac and everything in between. With over 40 years of experience in designing and building bicycles, it's no surprise that the Outback has become an icon in the rugged realm of gravel and adventure bikes. Tom is also an avid traveler. Fueled by a deep passion for experiencing diverse cultures and an insatiable desire to explore the world by bike, he created the new Outback Steel Break-Away for those who appreciate the Outback's versatility and have the wanderlust to take it to distant destinations. This bike is for everyone who has been asking for a steel Outback Break-Away in recent years.

The Outback Steel Break-Away easily disassembles and fits into its own sturdy travel case, helping you avoid extra baggage fees when flying. Once you reach your destination, reassembling the bike is a breeze, allowing you to quickly hit the road. In addition to its innovative Break-Away design, the Outback Steel Break-Away features several practical and adaptable elements that enable riders to pursue epic adventures beyond the end of the road. With rack and fender mounts, you can keep your gear dry and increase your load capacity for longer bikepacking trips. The frame accommodates 700c x 48mm or 650b x 2.0in tires, opening up a world of possibilities. It also supports flat-mount disc calipers, and the new all-carbon fiber Ritchey Adventure Fork comes equipped with multi-purpose mounts on the legs, providing extra storage options for supplies collected at the nearest café—wherever that may be.
