  • The Montebello exemplifies how a bike's design serves a purpose beyond just moving forward. While long-distance rides—known as brevets, randonneurs, or audaxes—have been around for over a century, the focus on creating bikes specifically tailored for hundreds of kilometers has been less emphasized. Each year, Tom Ritchey logs about 15,000 miles in the saddle, using this experience as his "lab" for designing new bikes.

More than just another road bike, the Montebello incorporates features and design elements for those who wish to go beyond traditional long-distance rides. Constructed with proprietary triple-butted Logic steel tubing, it offers a higher stack, a longer wheelbase, and a lower bottom bracket compared to its Road Logic counterpart. These geometrical choices provide a comfortable and stable ride as day turns to night and back again. The frameset also includes fender and rack mounts, responding to requests from Ritchey enthusiasts.

This distinctive frameset features the new WCS Carbon Brevet Fork, crafted specifically for it. The fork accommodates up to 40c tires without fenders—or 36c with fenders—and offers special mounting options for either a porteur or lowrider rack on its legs, along with threaded holes in the crown for attaching rack lights. With internal Dynamo routing becoming a standard feature on Ritchey adventure forks, the Brevet Fork also maintains the signature design of Ritchey forks—featuring a 1–1/8th straight steerer for a precise yet forgiving ride experience.
