COMPOUND - SMARTGRIP GRAVITY
Pirelli developed this compound to meet the demands of modern riding styles, where higher speeds and more powerful bikes require softer cushioning and controlled feedback. Based on the properties of lignin, a natural chemical component produced when waste paper is broken down and patented by Pirelli, it offers all the benefits of its XC-oriented counterpart, the classic SmartGRIP compound, but combines them in a softer durometer package. Lignin is not only a naturally occurring additive, but also improves the mechanical properties of the rubber, resulting in greater stability than any other compound with the same robustness.

HARDWALL (HW)
The structure features bead-to-bead protection and a hard rubber insert directly over the bead for added reliability during aggressive rides. The multiple reinforcements embedded in the carcass designed for modern bikes aim to improve structural reliability and provide more support at lower tire pressures.
