GRIP
The properties of the new Pirelli SpeedGRIP Compound are designed for all weather conditions, irrespective of whether the terrain is dry or wet. Building on the Scorpion MTB rubber formulation, SmartGRIP, the new SpeedGRIP mixture maintains the same polymer matrix but enhances rolling efficiency. The demand for greater speed or mileage with consistent effort on gravel, combined with a mix of asphalt, gravel, and aggressive terrain for a variety of uses—from racing to packing to adventuring—has led Pirelli engineers to optimize this new rubber for better energy management. The SpeedGRIP Compound retains the same tear resistance as its MTB counterpart and features high chemical grip (also known as wet grip), reducing rolling resistance to a level nearly equivalent to that of pure road racing tires.
