The emperor's racing gear
This racing tyre wants to be pushed on the toughest World Cup courses. The Kaiser Projekt offers low rolling resistance, high pinch-flat protection and precisely handling while cornering. This is achieved by shallow center knobs and uniform shoulder knobs. Furthermore this version of Kaiser features an excellent puncture resistance and maximum stability thanks to ProTection TubelessReady insert and Apex stiffening. The right tyre for an aggressive line. BlackChili Compound
This unique tread rubber mixture which is only produced in Continental German factory has revolutionised bicycle tyres. The resultant compound showed a new relationship between grip and rolling resistance. This "Elevated level", as it was previously known, was given the name "BlackChili". The latest polymers, nanoscale soot particles and optimized fillers all guarantee a unique performance, from downhill MTB tyres to the time trial tires of the ProTour, they are second to none in their respective areas. BlackChili Compound improves rolling resistance by 26% and provides 30% more grip than activated silica compounds. Premium tyres with BlackChili Compound also impress with higher mileage and unlike many multi-compounds, provide a constant ride from the first to the last kilometre.
Better than ever before, the latest Continental ProTection casing. The extra all-round puncture protection layer renders the casings especially durable and intensive to damage or penetration from foreign elements.
Treads and sidewalls are equally protected, and are 25 % lighter and offer 30 % more puncture protection than their predecessors protected by DuraSkin. Rolling resistance and absorption has also significantly improved.
The Made in Germany technology allows it to withstand even the hardest trails across the world. What's more: they're universally usable, are inspired by BlackChili Compound and have an aesthetically pleasing sidewall design. The revolution Tubeless Ready bead improves the application of Tubeless Ready Tires.
The sidewall of freeride and downhill tires is subjected to extraordinarily high loads. A rubber profile between the carcass layers ensures stability. The Apex sits on the tire core and reinforces the sides of the tire. The tire does not impact on the rim during rough rides over rocky ground. The tire stays upright better when riding around bends. It does not bend over the sides of the rim when subjected to transverse loads, and always stays true to the course.
Note: World Cup tires with reduced mileage!
