SUPER RECORD DISC BRAKE
The new Super Record 12x2 Speed Disc Brake groupset is Campagnolo's highest expression of technology and evolution. It is geared towards riders who want to equip their bicycle with the best the market offers in terms of performance and distinctiveness.
The need to improve what is already considered the benchmark means every single detail, even the most basic, is attended to.
The new Super Record 12x2 Speed Disc Brake groupset is presented on the market with an innovative rear derailleur designed with 3D Embrace technology that enables the chain to maintain the highest level of traction, even on the smallest sprockets. The new front derailleur with its double connector rod system enhances the use of the 24 speeds and takes full advantage of each combination of metric development. It always finds the ideal ratio for every incline.
The new Ergopower controls are even more ergonomic due to the unique shape of the levers that allows for even better operation. The new crankset with the two-by-two coupling of the arms, is a step forward in stiffness, whilst keeping constant the technologies and advantages characteristic of Super Record.
The new sprocket packs contain an extra sprocket and highlight the incredibly technological processing of the larger sprockets enclosed in the two triplet single-piece monolith units. The new 5.2 mm chain maintains the high Campagnolo standards, enhancing the derailings of the new Super Record drivetrain through the alignment of the pins on the external links.
Last but not least, the Disc Brake technology developed by Campagnolo for the 2018 product range ensures that the Super Record groupset has the greatest braking force and modulability possible.
SUPER RECORD DISC BRAKE ERGOPOWER CONTROLS
New mechanical Ergopower Super Record 12x2 Speed Disc Brake controls: more ergonomic, more precise, more powerful and easier to maintain.
Comfort, control, speed and responsiveness are some of the main features of a bike's controls, helping keep all situations under control. The new mechanical controls for the Ergopower Super Record 12x2 Speed Disc Brake offer an ergonomic, comfortable and safe support and grip thanks to Vari-Cushion technology, essential for those who stay on the saddle for several hours.
The controls’ inner workings are a concentration of technology and experience, starting with the “one lever-one action” function, which assigns each lever a single function, helping avoid shifting errors at tired or distracting moments, and then continue with the multiple shifting option which allows up- or downshifting by up to 5 sprockets at a time thanks to the Ultra-Shift mechanism. This function allows you to maintain cadence even in case of sudden changes of incline or rhythm, with speed and ease as useful as it is surprising.
In addition, it features a number of extremely useful functions, such as the adjustability of the levers; the Reach Adjustment function enables the brake lever to be brought closer to the low grip for riders with smaller hands, and the AMS Adjustment allows the rider to select two different settings in order to modulate the braking power: "Short" for an immediate, direct effect, or "Long" for more modulated, controlled brakings.
The Super Record Disc Brake brake levers are engineered with a double curvature for improved grip and are lightened with two slots that are added to the one dedicated to Reach Adjustment.
Weight: 462 g
FEATURES & BENEFITS
The controls can be safely and securely gripped when riding out of the saddle or on the tops of the handlebars.
The immediate shifting allows operation of the derailleurs with minimal effort, from any position on the handlebars.
A sudden climb, a lightning-fast movement: finding just the right ratio takes but a moment thanks to the multiple action shifters.
The contoured support and reach adjustment mean these controls can be used by all cyclists, regardless of the size of their hands and fingers.
Campagnolo brake calipers: powerful, modulable and reliable.
The flat-mount Campagnolo brake calipers ensure powerful, modular braking in any situation owing to pistons measuring 22 millimetres in diameter. The pad return is now optimised to ensure that there is no friction when the brake lever is released. A special metal plate positioned between the pad and the caliper piston, cushions the vibrations during braking.
The different Campagnolo brake calipers were designed to be mounted together with the disc chosen by the rider and to always guarantee the highest level of performance. It is indeed possible to choose the brake caliper with a disc measuring either 140 mm (limited to cyclists weighing no more than 82 kg) or 160 mm in diameter. Careful attention was given to making maintenance and assembly operations easy: the pads have wear indicators and replacing them is facilitated by the absence of physical return springs. Additionally, work was done on the insertion of the disc in the caliper to make changing the wheel easier and faster.
Weight: 118 g (140 mm, pads included)
FEATURES & BENEFITS
Standard Flat Mount
Fully compatible with flat-mount frames.
22 mm pistons in phenolic resin
Braking force and thermal isolation.
The return action of the pistons is now optimised, rapidly returning the pads to their position and thus ensuring an overall clearance between pad and disc of 0.4-0.8 mm, with no risk of accidental contact.
Interchangeable spare parts: pads, cylinder, screws, bolts (same for all callipers)
Fully compatible and optimised spare parts, making maintenance practical and reducing the number of components to keep on hand in the warehouse.
It is very easy to see when the pads need to be replaced.
Rounded brake pads
These facilitate disc insertion and speed up wheel changing.
Optimal braking without vibrations.
Two fixing screws
Rapid installation and maintenance.
