The SPEEDHUB 500/14 is operated by a twist shifter which shifts simply by pulling separate cables up or down. The indexing of the shifting lies not in the shifter as with common designs, but inside the hub. There is no wear on the indexing system nor need to adjust it.
The Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 is compatible with both quick release and bolt-on axle types. There are 2 types of gear mech: internal and external. There are 3 types of axle plates for aftermarket and OEM versions and 2 types of disc brake OEM version hubs.
All hubs are retrofitable for disc brakes. Hubs are available in Aluminum (silver), red and black.
The twist shifter works with two shift cables. When the twist shifter is rotated forward (direction gear #14), than the rear shift cable 14 is pulled. When the twist shifter is rotated backward (direction gear #1), than the front shift cable 1 is pulled.
The indexing of the shifting lies not in the twist shifter as with common designs, but inside the hub. There is no wear on the indexing system nor need to adjust it.
