    ROTOR Direct Mount Q-Ring

    New trends in smaller chainrings – plus a motive to craft a lighter oval chainring for mountain bikes, resulted in Direct Mount Q-Rings. In addition to biomechanical performance, there was one more important factor when designing our Q-Rings: compatibility. The simplified one-piece design saves approximately 40 grams compared to standard ring+spider+bolts combination (for example, weight savings for a 32t ring is 40g).

    • Keep in mind the offset
      The workmanship on this one is flawless. There are two things to keep in mind when choosing this for your bike.
      1. The ring has 4 mm of offset, which means the chainline with an RF crank will be 51 mm. This is the same offset as used by RF?s own rings. Some websites say ?standard? or ?49 mm chainline?, but that is incorrect.
      2. The teeth are taller than usual: 1?2 mm taller than RF rings. This results in a bigger ?larger diameter?, i.e. slightly larger than a 36T RF ring. Be careful not to gouge your frame.
